The Passage

A three-night sojourn to a pastoral 3,000 acre estate in Wales, traversing steep valleys and winding roads. We’ll stay at Llywn Madoc, an 18th century manor house surrounded by ancient woodland, landscaped gardens and rolling hills.

Daily riding guided by Jasper will take us through the W elsh highlands. Private chef Barney Hallawell will serve classic British food, while afternoons can be spent learning leather-craft, hiking and wild swimming, clay pigeon shooting and fostering new friendships.

FAQs

What kit and clothing do I need?

If you’re riding down, only you know how much kit you can fit into rucksacks and paniers. Warm mid layers and jumpers for the morning and a nice shirt for dinner. Other than that, bring any riding kit you would normally, plus a couple extra pairs of socks for when they inevitably get wet.

What time do I need to be up?

A full itinerary of the days activities and timings will be presented at dinner the day before and available throughout the day. A short brief will also be given during dinner to update everyone on expected weather and any last minute changes.

What’s the food options?

Our Private Chef Barney will be with us all weekend. A menu will be based off what is local to the area and currently in season. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is all included within the price. Snacks and light refreshments will be offered in the afternoon when we return from riding. There will be options for breakfast and lunches with dinners being a set menu.

What’s included in the Welcome Hamper?

On your bed as you arrive, a small token of our appreciation for you joining us for this Sojourn. A collection of items, from mugs, wellness goodies, SOL X Sojourn merch and a bespoke riding bandanna.

Where are we swimming?

Jump in the crew car, or set out on foot, over the hill and through the lumbar yard, finally making your way down to the private lake. The walk should take around 40 minutes. The water will be cold.
